The Fresno-Madera Area Agency
on Aging's (FMAAA's) mission is to provide leadership in addressing
issues that relate to older Californians; to develop community-based systems of care that provide services which support
independence within California's interdependent society, and
which protect the quality of life of older persons and persons
with functional impairments; and to promote citizen involvement
in the planning and delivery of service.
| The role of the agency is
to: Establish and coordinate an integrated comprehensive
community based system of care for seniors in PSA 14; |
| » |
Target services
towards low-income, minority, rural, and functionally
impaired individuals; |
| » |
Provide nutrition
and supportive services to assure maximum independence
and dignity at home for the elderly in order to prevent
premature institutionalization; |
| » |
Educate the community
on the issue of elder abuse and how it might be prevented;
|
| » |
Provide opportunities
for our seniors to demonstrate their commitment to improving
their communities. |
