Description: Volunteers provide non-judgmental love, guidance and positive role modeling for at risk children. Volunteers must be 60 years or older and low income and work a minimum of 15 hours per week to qualify. Program provides a small stipend, regular training, supplemental liability, and a physical exam for volunteers.

Description: Recruits and refers volunteers 55 years of age and older in non-profit, public, governmental and licensed services and agencies. Recruits volunteer sites who welcome older volunteers. Provides training to sites in volunteer management.

Description: The Senior Companion Program (SCP) is a federally funded volunteer program where seniors are helping frail and elderly seniors in Fresno and Madera counties. All potential clients and companions must be 55 years or older. There is no cost to clients who are in need of a Companion. The Senior Companion Program does not directly place Companions in the homes of clients. The Program has partner agencies in the community that facilitate that part of the program. Those interested in becoming a Senior Companion must go through specialized training. Senior Companions receive a modest non-taxable stipend, transportation allowance and the proven benefits of volunteering - better health and increased happiness.
