Title
III E Family Caregiver Support Program History |
| |
The Family Caregiver Support
Program (FCSP) is a part of a recent national effort to meet
the needs of a segment of the caregiver population. Funding
for this program was established as the result of the year 2000
amendments to the Older Americans Act. The Fresno-Madera Agency
on Aging (FMAAA) is the local funding agent for this program.
FCSP services are offered jointly by both the Fresno-Madera
Agency on Aging and Valley Caregiver Resource Center (VCRC).
FMAAA provides caregiver support through the provision of
services such as case management, caregiver support groups, information and assistance, and outreach. The FMAAA contracts with
VCRC to provide additional FCSP services, such as comprehensive assessments, counseling, caregiver
support groups, caregiver training, respite registry, and community education.
