It is imperative that the FMAAA
address and balance the competing interests and needs within
PSA 14, given limited resources that must be used most efficiently
and effectively. The FMAAA is committed to charting a new
course for developing a seamless senior services network to
enhance services through increased communication and coordination.

III B Supportive Services |
| |
As we begin the 21st Century and
build a community based system of care (CBSC), the focus
of serving the whole person necessitates a change in
focus from Information & Assistance to case management. Outreach,
information and assistance, and transportation all play
important roles in serving the whole person and connecting
them with the most appropriate plan for their needs.

III E Family Caregiver Support Programs |
| |
Providing informal care for a family
member or friend often means physical exhaustion, mental
strain and having no time to recover from either one.
Obviously, service expansion is critical for individuals
to prevent the extreme emotional and physical fatigue
caused from being a 24-hour caregiver. Also of critical
importance is the need for public information and outreach,
particularly in rural areas where many caregivers have
limited or no knowledge of the available services.
